As a customer or an employee at HomeTown Bank, you’re more than just a number. That’s something that Mikki Barranco has discovered first-hand. After working for some other larger banks, Mikki jumped on the opportunity to explore the world of Commercial Banking at HomeTown Bank. Two and a half years later, she’s one of our Commercial Banking Associates at our Downtown Branch!
Mikki was the winner of our “Most Customer-Centric Award” at our 2018 Employee Appreciation Dinner due to her excellence in serving our commercial banking clients. She says it’s one of her favorite memories of her time here and just one of the many reasons that she has grown so loyal to our company.
“I love working for a community bank! I have worked at bigger banks, and the customers and employees really are just a number,” says Mikki about making the switch to working at a smaller bank. “HomeTown Bank treats their employees as very vital parts of our everyday success.”
Needless to say, Mikki really is a part of our success in serving our community and the businesses that flourish in it! Beyond serving our commercial banking customers, she serves her community by supporting local sports by serving on the Athletic Booster Club for Lord Botetourt High School and as team manager of the Roanoke Star Soccer Club. When she’s not being an active soccer and cheer mom, she’s spending time with her four kids, two dogs, cat, and a turtle! It’s quite a motley crew!
Mikki always comes into work with a smile on her face because she knows she can look forward to making a difference in the lives of her customers and enjoying the company of her co-workers. It keeps her wanting to come back every day.
“I really feel like I am at home,” says Mikki with a smile. “I can’t imagine not working here now. I actually feel like I make a difference every day and that what I contribute is respected and appreciated.”
A shining example of a HomeTown Bank employee and valuable part of our Commercial Banking team, we’re so glad to have Mikki on our team. Make sure you stop in and say hello next time you visit our Downtown branch!
